Overview
This fan sits between the toolhead board and the extruder, cooling the hotend heating assembly itself so filament does not soften too early and clog the throat above the nozzle. It is a different part from the part cooling fan, which cools the printed part rather than the hotend, listed separately. A failing hotend fan often shows up as more frequent clogs or inconsistent extrusion before it fails outright.
