Overview
The LightMake L4 is a 4-head 3D printer where each printhead moves independently on its own linear motor - no shared gantry, no belts. This lets the machine print with up to four tools at once: four copies of the same part in parallel, four different colors, or four different materials in a single job. Each toolhead is tracked and aligned using onboard optical sensors, keeping the heads registered to within 30 microns of each other so multi-head prints stay accurate without manual calibration. The linear motor system reaches print speeds up to 500mm/s, travel speeds up to 1000mm/s, and 20,000mm/s² acceleration, with ±1μm motion accuracy from closed-loop control. The build volume is 354 × 370 × 386mm. The hotend reaches up to 320°C with a hardened steel nozzle, and the PEI-coated bed heats up to 110°C - supporting PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, ASA, PVA, PET and carbon-fiber composites. Two built-in cameras let you monitor prints remotely. The printer runs on Klipper-based firmware with a Fluidd web interface.
