Overview

The Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K S is a large-format MSLA resin 3D printer built around a 15-inch 8K monochrome LCD, giving it one of the biggest build volumes in Phrozen's resin lineup at 330 x 185 x 300 mm. Despite the generous build volume, it holds a sharp 43-micron XY resolution. It uses a 405 nm ParaLED Matrix 2.0 light engine paired with layer thickness from 0.01 to 0.30 mm, and Phrozen rates average print speed at roughly 400 layers per hour. An anti-scratch ACF release film sits in the standard resin vat, and files are sliced in CHITUBOX (v1.9.6 or later) before printing via the front USB port. It suits cosplayers, prop makers, and small studios who need to print large single pieces (helmets, armor panels, display busts) without stitching parts together, or who want to fill a big vat with many smaller models in one batch run. The trade-off for its size and price is that connectivity is USB-only — there's no Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and Phrozen doesn't list a heated chamber or monitoring camera on this model, so the workflow is more hands-on than Phrozen's higher-end Revo printers.
