Overview
The QIDI Max4 is a large-format CoreXY FDM 3D printer designed for makers and small businesses who need both scale and speed. It offers a 390×390×340mm build volume — notably larger than QIDI's standard-size machines — while still reaching up to 800mm/s print speed and 30,000mm/s² acceleration, driven by closed-loop FOC stepper motors on a CoreXY frame with 1.5GT belts. The hotend reaches 370°C and the heated bed 120°C, with a direct extruder using dual hardened-steel gears and a 0.4mm bimetal nozzle (0.2mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm available). A third-generation PTC chamber heater brings the enclosed build chamber up to 65°C, which matters at this scale for keeping large ABS-CF, PC, and nylon prints from warping or delaminating. Bed leveling is fully automatic via a load-cell sensor built into the hotend, and the machine includes AI camera print monitoring, filament run-out detection, and power-loss recovery. Air quality is handled by a 3-in-1 filtration system (pre-filter, HEPA, and activated carbon), and connectivity covers Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB through a 5-inch touchscreen. At roughly 40kg, the Max4 is a genuinely large, heavy machine — plan for a sturdy table and adequate clearance. It's best suited to users printing large functional parts, enclosures, or batches of prints who have outgrown a standard-size desktop printer.
