Overview
The Snapmaker U1 is a tool-changing 3D printer built around 4 independent toolheads, allowing up to 4 colors or materials in a single print without the purge waste that AMS-style systems need. It has a 270 x 270 x 270mm build volume and reaches print speeds up to 500mm/s with 20,000mm/s² acceleration, backed by automatic bed leveling and dimensional accuracy of ±0.1mm. Nozzle temperature reaches up to 300°C and the bed heats up to 100°C. In its standard open frame configuration it supports PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA and PCTG. Adding the optional Top Cover enclosure extends this to ABS, ASA, PA and PC, and hardened steel hotends allow carbon fiber and glass fiber reinforced filaments. A built in camera provides chamber monitoring, and the printer connects over WiFi or USB, running on Klipper based firmware (Mainsail and Fluidd) with optional cloud access through SimplyPrint.
